Instead of forcing a tie-down hook directly against bare metal, loop this 1.5" x 12" soft extension around your anchor point first — a frame tube, suspension arm, or other rated tie-down point — then run your existing ratchet or cam strap through the loop. The soft webbing sits between your hook and your vehicle, keeping metal-to-metal contact out of the equation.
